In less that 2 months time, we’ll be staging our very own affair. A Malaysian Affair!
And since Through the Barricade production, YKLS do have this tradition of dedicating a portion of our tickets to the under privileged community to enjoy our show. For this production, it will be happening on the Sunday Matinee (8 Oct 2006) show. Previously, our beneficiaries include:
- Malaysian Association of the Blind
- Rumah Hope
- Rumah Kanak-kanak Impian
- Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-kanak Cacat Taman Megah
- Rumah Ozanam
- and more …
All their tickets are funded by corporate sponsors/donors.We are appealing to all members to support this effort by approaching your friends/families/enemies/teachers/neighbors/boss/colleagues
or anyone at all.
One way you may approach your contact is thru “Sponsor a Ticket” concept where everyone can buy ticket(s) for themselves and buy another for the under privileged. Or, if they are not interested to come for the show, they can just sponsor a ticket. Even you yourself who is reading this right now can sponsor a ticket. Some of you might think that this may not work but trust us, as long as you are willing to ask, you may be surprise with the result that you will get. In the past, we manage to dedicate our matinee shows for the past few productions.
On one memorable note, during the Rodgers & Hammerstein production (2002) we’ve extended our invitation to the Malaysian Association of the Blind, they were more than happy and excited to hear us thus look forward to our concert to the extent, where they asked for our Program Book to be translated into Braille. To us, this might be just a small way we give back to the society but for those in the receiving end, our effort actually means a lot for them.
If you know or want to a sponsor/donor, do let Raymond (012-3088043), Ian (012-6981426) or me (012-2898542) knows on the number of tickets so we could pre-reserve the seats.
By the way, it is just RM 30 per ticket.
